The Nagpur Cricket Ground pitch is going to be a rank turner

Turning tracks have always been the feature of Indian Tests, and India are sticking to their guns.

With almost two days for the series to begin, it’s safe enough to think that the pitch will be trimmed off more and the brown spinning wicket will be exposed.

“We want to maximize our advantage and prepare turners. Spinners are our biggest strength and we should give them the best conditions to bowl and get wickets,” a source in the team told Indian Express.

In 2015, all 20 South African wickets were taken by spin in Nagpur. In the most recent Test here, against Sri Lanka in 2017, Ravichandran Ashwin and Ravindra Jadeja each claimed eight and five wickets, respectively.
