    The second Test match between India and Australia kicked off on an exciting note with the visitors batting first. Usman Khawaja impressed with a well-made 81, but India’s Mohammed Shami stole the show with a brilliant 4-60 performance as Australia were bowled out for 263 in their first innings.

    As India stepped out to bat, they saw through the final overs of the day’s play with their openers finishing at 21/0. Rohit Sharma and KL Rahul remained unbeaten, leaving India trailing by 242 more runs.

    The first day’s play witnessed a fascinating battle between the two teams, with Australia struggling to build partnerships against India’s disciplined bowling attack. India’s quicks Shami, Jadeja, and Ashwin bowled with great control, with Shami uprooting 4 wickets. Jadeja and Ashwin shared 3-3 wickets each.

    Usman Khawaja played a steady innings, but couldn’t carry on for a big score. On the other hand, Shami claimed four crucial wickets.

    India’s openers, Rohit and Rahul, started cautiously but managed to negotiate the final overs of the day without losing any wickets.
