Matthew Kuhnemann looked extremely threatening against India but failed to pick any wickets before he ultimately got the biggest fish in cricket Virat Kohli for an individual score of 44 runs. Virat Kohli was taking the game away from Australia, he was set against the Aussies for a big score, but a controversial LBW made him return to the pavilion.

Virat Kohli tried to defend the ball bowled by Kuhnemann, but the ball appeared to hit the bat and pad at the same time. The on-field umpire Nitin Menon gave Virat Kohli out, but the Indian batter instantly reviewed it. In the replays, it showed the ball had hit the bat and pad at the same time, but Richard Illingworth, the third umpire, thought the ball had hit the pad stumps.

Ultimately, Kohli was judged out, and the crowd at Delhi Stadium filled with the cries of boo.
