With less than a week left for the 2nd Test of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy to begin, a big still remains – Will Shreyas Iyer be available for the 2nd Test?

As per reports, Shreyas Iyer has recovered from back injury quite well, but the next 48 hours is very important as he is likely to undergo the fitness test on Tuesday (14 February).

“He is very close to fitness. But he has not received fitness clearance from the NCA physios. So, he will need a fitness test,” A top BCCI official told InsideSport.

“As far as I know, the fitness drills are scheduled by Tuesday. If he clears, he will join the team in Delhi on Thursday,” he added.

Ahead of the fitness test in Bengaluru, Shreyas Iyer shared a cool mirror selfie with Washington Sundar and Tilak Varma.

Shreyas Iyer has amassed the most runs for India in Tests in 2022, and with his return, SKY can warm the bench again along with Shubman.
