Parthiv Patel slams Virat Kohli’s unexpected dismissal in the second innings of the third Test in Indore. In a recent discussion on Cricbuzz, Patel expressed his shock and disappointment at Kohli’s reckless shot, noting that it was not typical of the star batter’s style of play. “He knew about his mistake and immediately reacted to it,” Patel added.

However, Patel also emphasized that the Indian team’s struggles were not just limited to Kohli’s dismissal, with other batters failing to capitalize on their starts. The only standout performer was Cheteshwar Pujara, who managed to score 59 runs.

But it wasn’t just the Indian team’s performance that caught Patel’s attention – he also praised stand-in skipper Steve Smith’s captaincy for the Australian team. Patel believes that Smith’s years of experience as captain made all the difference in the Indore Test, particularly in his tactical bowling changes and correct DRS calls.

Comparatively, Patel highlighted Pat Cummins’ lack of captaincy experience as a disadvantage. Additionally, Patel pointed out a loophole in cricketing rules that Smith used to his advantage during the match – Australian wicket-keeper Tim Paine regularly dislodged bails, forcing the square-leg umpire to go upstairs to check the stumpings, with Australian players also able to see if the ball had taken the batter’s edge without using their reviews.

Overall, Patel’s insights offer an interesting perspective on the events that transpired during the Indore Test.
