Shahbaz Ahmed was brought in the squad as a replacement for Axar Patel. The all-rounder has performed well for India in the past and get the opportunity over Washington Sundar in the final ODI. He is a like to like replacement for Sundar in the Indian playing XI.

2- Rajat Patidar

The IPL sensation Rajat Patidar is going through the form of his life. He has been included in Indian squad on a couple of ocassions but is yet to get a game. In the third ODI he can finally get his chance if Virat Kohli decides to take rest.

3- Umran Malik

The Indian pacer has impressed with his wicket taking abilities in the middle overs. His fiery pace is just phenomenal and brings a difference dimension to the Indian cricket. He is most likely to play the 3rd ODI for India.

4- Ish Sodhi

The Kiwi wrist spinner is yet to get a chance in the playing XI for New Zealand despite having a great record against India in ODIs. Since New Zealand have nothing to lose anymore they can surely afford to play him in the 3rd ODI.
