After reaching an agreement on a hybrid model, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) and the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) will release the complete schedule of the Asia Cup on July 14. The highly anticipated India vs Pakistan matches are likely to take place in Dambulla, Sri Lanka. The arch-rivals are scheduled to play against each other twice, and if both teams qualify for the Asia Cup finals, the third match between them will also be held in Dambulla.

After careful consideration, BCCI Secretary Jay Shah and PCB Chief Zaka Ashraf held a meeting in Durban to discuss the schedule of the Continental tournament and finalized Sri Lanka as the venue.

Ahead of the highly anticipated match in the ICC ODI World Cup on October 15, India and Pakistan will have the opportunity to warm up by playing two Asia Cup games. With the BCCI and PCB resolving their differences and moving forward with the Continental Cup, fans are eagerly anticipating an epic showdown. Previously, the PCB chief Najam Sethi showed no interest in the hybrid model, but tensions escalated after Zaka Ashraf assumed the role of the new PCB chief.
Initially, Zaka Ashraf, the new PCB chief, was not in favor of the idea of hosting only four matches in Pakistan and scheduling the remaining nine matches in Sri Lanka for the Asia Cup. However, after discussions and negotiations, both parties have successfully resolved the issue and reached an agreement on implementing the hybrid model. The Asia Cup is scheduled to commence on August 31 and run until September 17, featuring the participation of six teams.
