Scheduled to depart on an 11 PM flight, the team faced prolonged waiting times, leading to exhaustion upon finally reaching their destination at a grueling 5 AM. This late-night travel has taken a toll on the players’ rest and recovery, becoming a point of concern for the team.

The overlapping of Test and ODI squads has further compounded the issue, with white-ball specialists like Suryakumar Yadav and Hardik Pandya having already arrived earlier. In response to the players’ request, the BCCI has agreed to accommodate their needs and make necessary adjustments to the travel schedule.

The revised schedule will allow the players adequate time to recover and rejuvenate, enabling them to perform at their best during the upcoming ODIs. Team India will return to Trinidad on July 29 for the second ODI, followed by the series finale at the Queen’s Park Oval. The all-format tour will culminate with a thrilling five-match T20I series against the West Indies.
