In the first Test match of the series between India and West Indies on July 12, Rohit Sharma’s team emerged victorious on the opening day. While West Indies struggled to a total of 150, India cruised to 80/0.

Ashwin played a pivotal role in India’s bowling attack, securing a five-wicket haul. The other bowlers also performed admirably and received excellent support from the fielders.

Ishan Kishan, making his Test debut, took two catches, but it was Mohammed Siraj who stole the spotlight with his breathtaking catch.

In the 28th over’s final ball, Jermaine Blackwood attempted a lofted shot down the ground off Ravindra Jadeja’s delivery. That’s when Siraj leaped into the air and pulled off a stunning flying catch.

While his teammates celebrated the catch in awe, Siraj landed hard on the ground and hurt his elbow, causing him some pain.

West Indies legend Courtney Walsh was in disbelief at the catch and lavished praise on Siraj. He remarked, “What a catch! Catches like these can turn the match around. I just hope he hasn’t injured himself and is alright.”
