IND vs ZIM T20I Series: Team India will create history after defeating Zimbabwe, Shubman Gill has a chance!

The T20 series between India and Zimbabwe is going to start from July 6. If the Indian team wins the first match, a new record will be established.

Team India’s celebration is coming to an end after winning the T20 World Cup 2024. Now it is the turn of the match. The Indian team is currently on a tour of Zimbabwe, where 5 T20 International matches will be played. Team India for the series was already announced by the BCCI, whose captaincy is with Shubman Gill. Meanwhile, Shubman Gill has a big opportunity. If India defeats Zimbabwe in the first match itself, then that work will be done which no Test playing country has been able to do so far.

Teams winning the most matches consecutively in T20 International

The record of winning the most matches consecutively in T20 International is currently with the Bermuda team. The team has won 13 consecutive T20 International matches from the year 2021 to 2023. At the same time, Malaysia has also done this feat. The team has won 13 consecutive matches in the year 2022. Both these countries do not play Test matches. After this, if we talk about further, then the Afghanistan team has won 12 consecutive T20 International matches from the year 2018 to 2021. At the same time, Romania has also won 12 consecutive matches from the year 2020 to 2021.

Team India has won 12 T20 International matches consecutively

The Indian team had won 12 consecutive T20 International matches from the year 2021 to 2022, but after this the winning streak was broken. But now again Team India has won the same number of matches consecutively and is riding on the chariot of victory. This sequence, which started from the year 2023, is continuing till the year 2024 i.e. till now. If Team India defeats Zimbabwe in the first T20 International match, then its number of consecutive match wins will increase from 12 to 13. That is, India will become the first country to win 13 consecutive T20 International matches and play Tests.

If two matches are won consecutively, a new record will be created

Not only this, the Indian team has a chance to break all the records. That means to leave Bermuda and Malaysia behind, it will have to win two more matches in a row, which is not a difficult task. The team has to play its first match against Zimbabwe on Saturday, i.e. on July 6, while the second match will be played on July 7, which is on Sunday. Both matches will be played in Harare. That means in two days Team India will create a big history, which will not be impossible to break later, but will definitely become difficult.
