“India is looking at the bigger picture”: Rahul Dravid after India Lose to West Indies in 2nd ODI

Rahul Dravid, the head coach of the Indian cricket team, stressed the significance of keeping the broader perspective in mind and preparing for the 2023 World Cup.

He explained that they will find a balance between offering opportunities to players and striving for victories, even if it entails resting senior players like Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli.

With the Asia Cup and World Cup on the horizon and injuries affecting the team, Dravid believes it’s crucial to provide game time to backup players such as Sanju Samson and Axar Patel.

Despite the recent loss to West Indies, Dravid remains optimistic, considering it an opportunity to evaluate other players and make crucial decisions for the upcoming tournaments. The main focus is on adequately preparing the team for the future, even if it means not overly fixating on short-term outcomes.
