India No. 1 in All Three Formats in ICC Rankings ahead of Cricket World Cup

India now holds the No. 1 position in all three formats of the game.

Following their impressive 5-wicket victory over Australia on Friday, the Indian cricket team has received a significant boost ahead of the ODI World Cup 2023. This win has propelled them to the top spot in the world, displacing Pakistan, and making India the No. 1 ODI team with a rating of 116 and 4,864 points. The team’s outstanding performance in the first ODI against Australia at Mohali Cricket Stadium has certainly contributed to this achievement.

Furthermore, with the updated ODI rankings, India now holds the No. 1 position in all three formats of the game. In T20 rankings, India leads with a rating of 264 and 15,589 points, while in Test cricket, they are at the top with 3,434 points and a rating of 118. This accomplishment makes the Indian cricket team the second in history, following South Africa’s achievement in 2014, to hold this remarkable distinction.

As the ODI World Cup 2023 approaches, things are looking promising for Team India. Indian cricket has faced some challenges in recent years, and fans have eagerly awaited championship victories. Their patience was rewarded when India convincingly defeated defending champions Sri Lanka to claim the Asia Cup 2023 title last week.

On the batting front, the opening partnership of Shubman Gill (74) and Ruturaj Gaikwad (71) set the stage with a solid 142-run stand. Whenever Australia attempted a comeback, the Indian batsmen displayed remarkable resilience, ultimately securing a 5-wicket win.
