India is set to play a three match T20I Series against Afghanistan beginning from 11th January 2024. Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma have returned to the Indian T20 squad after more than a year. Rohit has been announced as the captain. On the other hand, Hardik Pandya has failed to make the squad due to his injury.
KL Rahul has been dropped from the T20I set-up and Shreyas Iyer is rested against Afghanistan. Mohammed Shami, Jasprit Bumrah and Mohammed Siraj are also not picked to ease their workload. Yuzvendra Chahal has been ignored again. Sanju Samson has made a return in the T20 squad and Jitesh Sharma has retained his spot.
