Ashwin finally ended the toil for India in the field when a ball kissed the outside edge of Nathan Lyon’s bat and flew away to land in Virat Kohli’s palms in the slips. The Australian cricket team scored 480 runs in the first inning of the Test match.
Usman Khawaja was the star batter for Australia with 180 runs. He was trapped leg before wicket by Axar Patel. Cameron Green scored his maiden Test hundred and scored 114 runs before he was caught behind the wickets while sweeping the ball. Ashwin dismissed him to get the first wicket for India on day 2.
After Khawaja’s departure India were frustrated by the duo of Todd Murphy and Nathan Lyon who constructed a good partnership of 70 runs. Both of them were dismissed by Ashwin. Murphy scored 41 while Lyon scored 34 runs.
About 10-12 overs are left in the day and India will look to not lose any wicket in this sphere of time. The Indian cricket team is completely tired after fielding for more than 167 overs.
