    India vs England 2nd Test of the 5 match Test Series is going to be played at the Dr YS Rajasekhara Reddy Cricket Stadium in Vizag from 2nd February 2024. India lost the first match of the Test Series and would look to come back strongly in this one. On the other hand, England will continue with its winning bazball formula.

    In the 132 Tests contested between India and England, England maintains a head-to-head lead of 51-31, with 50 matches concluding in draws. England has secured 36 victories at home and 15 in India, while India boasts 22 wins at home and nine in England. Across 35 Test series, England leads 19-11, with five series concluding in draws. In home series, India holds an 8-5 advantage over England, with three series ending in a stalemate.

    Sachin Tendulkar holds the record for the most runs in India-England series, amassing 2535 runs from 32 Tests. Joe Root, with 2526 runs from 26 matches, is poised to surpass Tendulkar in the first Test in Hyderabad. Root also holds the record for the most centuries in the series, notching up nine, while Tendulkar follows closely with seven tons.

    The highest individual score in the series is Graham Gooch’s 333 at Lord’s in 1990, with Karun Nair being the only other player to achieve a triple hundred in an India-England Test. Gooch’s remarkable tally of 752 runs from three Tests in 1990 stands as the highest by a batter in a series.

    In the bowling department, James Anderson leads with 139 wickets from 35 Tests, while Indian leg-spin maestro Bhagwat Chandrasekhar is second with 95 wickets from 23 Tests. Chandrasekhar holds the record for the most dismissals in a series, claiming 35 wickets from five Tests at home in 1972-73.

    The best bowling figures in an innings belong to Fred Trueman with 8/31 at Old Trafford in 1952. Vinoo Mankad (8/55) and Chandrasekhar (8/79) have also achieved eight-wicket hauls in an innings. Ian Botham’s 13/106 in the Golden Jubilee Test in Mumbai in 1980 remains the best match-haul, followed by Mankad’s 12/108 at Chennai in 1952.
