The stage is set for the second India vs Pakistan match in the Super 4 stage of the 2023 Asia Cup. Fans worldwide, numbering over a billion, are eagerly anticipating this clash after the previous encounter was abandoned due to rain. Led by Rohit Sharma, the Indian squad heads to the R. Premadasa International Cricket Stadium in Colombo with confidence, following their convincing 10-wicket victory over Nepal.

Pakistan has also displayed excellent performance in the Asia Cup 2023 and will rely on its formidable bowling strength, which troubled India’s top order in the previous match. Babar Azam’s recent achievement of surpassing Virat Kohli’s record for the fastest 2,000 runs in ODIs has bolstered the confidence of the Pakistan skipper ahead of this crucial match.

However, there’s a potential dampener for fans as Weather.com predicts a 90% chance of rain in Colombo on Sunday. Fortunately, the Asian Cricket Council (ACC) has taken precautions by scheduling a reserve day for the match. If rain intervenes, the game will continue on September 11, Monday. Fans have been advised to keep their match tickets safe, as they will remain valid for the reserve day, if needed.

The India vs Pakistan match is scheduled to kick off on September 10 (Sunday) at 3:00 PM (IST), with the toss expected to conclude by 2:30 PM.

While Pakistan has already revealed its playing XI, India is expected to announce its squad before the match. Pakistan’s playing XI includes Fakhar Zaman, Imam-ul-Haq, Babar Azam (c), Mohammad Rizwan (wk), Agha Salman, Iftikhar Ahmed, Shadab Khan, Faheem Ashraf, Shaheen Afridi, Naseem Shah, and Haris Rauf. India’s expected playing XI comprises Rohit Sharma, Shubman Gill, Virat Kohli, Shreyas Iyer, Ishan Kishan (wk), Hardik Pandya, Ravindra Jadeja, Kuldeep Yadav, Jasprit Bumrah, Shardul Thakur, and Mohammed Siraj.
