Mithali was last seen in action for India in the 50 over World Cup, which was held earlier this year in New Zealand. She wanted to win the World Cup for her country before being retired, but her dream remained a dream as India failed to clinch the trophy. However, the legend has produced countless memorable moments for India in International Women’s Cricket.
She started her career in international cricket at the age of 16 in 1999. Throughout her exciting journey in the cricketing world, she represented India in 232 ODIs, 89 T20is and 12 Test matches. Mithali has led India to the finals of two World Cups in her fruitful career.
In ODI cricket for women, she is the most prolific batter ever. On her debut, Mithali Raj scored a brilliant century and has never looked back since then. She scaled great heights to become a modern-day legend. Mithali finished with 7,805 runs in ODI cricket which is the most by any batter. She also registered 7 centuries and a massive 64 half-centuries in her ODI career.
She also has the highest score for a woman in Test cricket for India. Her 214 runs against England in 2022 made her the only Indian women cricketer to cross the benchmark of double centuries in Test cricket. Her score is also the second-highest score in the history of Test cricket.
