DC vs RR at Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai was an encounter filled with massive sixes, huge scores, and a dramatic ending. Rajasthan Royals batted first and posted the highest total of this year’s IPL of 222 runs. Delhi chased the target with fearlessness and required 36 off the last over.

Rovman Powell had the strike, and he deposited Obed Mccoy for three consecutive sixes to keep Delhi’s hope alive. However, the third ball of the last over was clearly a waist height no-ball, but the umpire did not think so.

It led to one of the most infamous incidents in IPL history as the DC captain Rishabh Pant asked his teammates to abandon the game and come back to the dressing room. One of DC’s coaches, Pravin Amre, went to the ground to discuss the no-ball with the umpire in the middle of the 20th over.

At last, everything was brought under control, and Rovman Powell took the strike, but he could take his team to the finish line, and Delhi lost by 15 runs to concede their 5th loss of the tournament.

    DC vs RR Highlights:

Delhi Capitals won the toss and elected to bowl first.

    RR Inning:

Rajasthan Royals had the best start they could have hoped for. Jos Buttler and Devdutt Padikkal formed a solid and destructive 155 run for the first wicket in 15 overs. Padikkal was the first one to be dismissed by Delhi Capitals. He scored 54 off 35.

Sanju Samson succeeded Padikkal on the crease and continued the momentum of the inning. He remained unbeaten on 46* off 19, including 5 fours and 3 sixes. On the other hand, Jos Buttler brought up his 3rd century of Tata IPL 2022 and smashed 116 off 65, comprising of 9 fours and 9 sixes.

Rajasthan Posted 222/2 in 20 overs.

    DC Inning:

Delhi Capitals had a fiery start with David Warner and Prithvi Shaw taking the Rajasthan bowlers head-on. Warner scored 28 off 14, and Shaw gathered 37 off 27. Sarfraz Khan disappointed with only 1 off 3.

However, Rishabh Pant and Lalit Yadav maintained the tempo of the inning for DC vs RR. Pant scored 44 off 24, while Yadav made 37 off 24. They could not stay till the end of the inning, and DC suffered a maiden over in the 19th.

Prasidh Krishna bowled magnificently in the 19th over to dismiss Lalit Yadav and not give way even a single run. In the end, the total proved to be too much for DC in the contest vs RR.
