IPL 2022: MS Dhoni returns as Captain for Chennai Super Kings

MS Dhoni, the stalwart asset for Chennai Super Kings since the inception of the Indian Premier League, has announced his return as the captain in the ongoing Tata IPL 2022.

The four-time title-winning captain MS Dhoni had relinquished his captaincy right before the tournament began in the hopes of nurturing Ravindra Jadeja as the skipper of Chennai Super Kings in the years to come.

CSK are currently positioned second from the bottom in the points table. The side led by Ravindra Jadeja has only won two matches in the tournament so far.

Jadeja’s inexperience and poor performance from other players have left Chennai Super Kings struggling to make a place for themselves in the play-offs.

At this point in time in Tata IPL,  CSK has only a bleak chance of making it to the playoffs. They have to win all 6 remaining games with considerable margins to improve both their points and net run rate in the tournament.

Can the legendary captain MS Dhoni help CSK reach the playoffs, or the team will suffer a devastating fate?

MS Dhoni has led Chennai Super Kings in 204 matches so far with 121 wins, 82 losses and a match without any results. Dhoni’s winning percentage touches almost 60, which is highly impressive in this format of the game.

Will he replicate this success in Tata IPL 2022 to climb the insurmountable odds and take Chennai Super Kings to the glory?
