IPL 2022, SRH VS GT: Clinical SRH defeats GT by 8 wickets

SRH vs GT, the match 21st of Tata IPL, saw Sunrisers Hyderabad registering their second consecutive win of the tournament.

Hyderabad defeated Gujarat Titans by chasing down 162 with 11 balls to spare. SRH was clinical in their approach and cruised towards the victory without much problems in the SRH vs GT clash.

SRH vs GT Highlights:

Kane Williamson won the toss and opted to ball first at DY Patil Stadium in Mumbai.

GT Inning:

Gujarat Titans had a miserable start with their superstar Shubman Gill departing early in the innings with only 7 runs to his name.

Mathew Wade continued his dismal run with the bat in Tata IPL 2022 and could only manage 19 off 19 before Umran Malik trapped his leg before.

Sai Sudarshan did not have great luck and went back into the dressing room on just 11 runs.

Gujarat Titans were stuttering at 64/3 in 8 overs and required a partnership to pull them through the middle overs.

Hardik Pandya and David Miller did try to forget a stand but could only gather 40 runs collectively before Miller was dismissed by his international teammate Marco Jansen.

The uncapped Abhinav Manohar had an exciting 50 run stand with Hardik Pandya for the 5th wicket. He scored 35 off 21 to give a boost to the Titans’ inning in SRH vs GT clash.

Hardik Pandya got to his fifty in the last over, but the team failed to accelerate in the last 2 overs, and Gujarat finished at 162/7 in 20 overs.

SRH Inning:

Sunrisers Hyderabad had a slow start with Kane Williamson finding it hard to time the ball. However, Abhishek Sharma kept the run rate under control from the other end.

Abhishek scored 42 off 32 before Rashid Khan dismissed him. Williamson then combined with Tripathi, and the duo upped the ante of their inning.

Rahul Tripathi suffered a hamstring injury and was pulled out of the game to be replaced by Nicholas Pooran. Kane Willamson almost did the job for SRH with his 57 off 46.

Hardik Pandya dismissed Willimason, but Pooran carried on the fireworks and scored an unbeaten 34* off 18 to make his team cross the finish line in SRH vs GT clash.
