Kolkata Knight Riders’ (KKR) problems don’t seem to end as after injury concerns of some of their main players, their senior all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan has pulled out of the tournament due to international commitment and personal reasons.
Here are 3 players who can replace Shakib Al Hasan in KKR’s squad:
1. Riley Meredith
Riley Meredith has represented a few teams in the IPL before. Apart from that, Meredith has also been a consistent performer in the Big Bash League (BBL). Though he is not a spinner, he could be a perfect replacement for Shakib Al Hasan as he can generate good pace and can bowl accurate yorkers at the death.
2. Dasun Shanaka
Dasun Shanaka has emerged to be one of the most destructive batsmen in World Cricket at present. Moreover, his records on Indian pitches are great too. Hence, Shanaka can not only be a backup for Andre Russell but can also provide solidity to the KKR setup.
3. Lance Morris
Lance Morris has recently gained attention due to his extraordinary pace. Known to hit 150 kph consistently, Morris could provide an extra dimension to the KKR attack, which currently lacks teeth and penetration.
