IPL 2023: 3 Best Replacements of Litton Das for Kolkata Knight Riders

Litton Das is likely to miss the opening matches for KKR in IPL 2023. These three players could possibly replace him in the team.

Litton Das and Shakib Al Hasan are likely to miss the first few matches for KKR in IPL 2023 as BCB has still not granted NOC to them. While Shakib’s absence may not affect the team much, Litton being not there with the team will definitely hit KKR hard as Litton Das was being seen as the most favorite opener in the team after Venkatesh Iyer.

3 Players Who Could Replace Litton Das as an Opener in KKR’s Playing 11:

1. Rahmanullah Gurbaz

Afghanistan’s Rahmanullah Gurbaz is a deserving candidate. Not only was he retained by KKR, but is also one of the explosive openers going around in the world. So, unless for overseas players restrictions, we should see KKR opting for opening Rahmanullah Gurbaz alongside Venkatesh Iyer.

2. N. Jagadeesan

N. Jagadeesan will get the preference over Rahmanullah Gurbaz to open KKR’s innings with Venkatesh Iyer if overseas player restrictions come into picture. N. Jagadeesan was released by Chennai Super Kings (CSK) ahead of the IPL 2023 Auction. However, the batter proved them wrong by smashing a brilliant double hundred in Vijay Hazare Trophy 2022.

3. Sunil Narine

There was a time when KKR used Sunil Narine as an opener. He was used as an opener so that he could give a powerful start to his team by scoring quick runs in the powerplay overs without worrying much about his wicket. This time too he could be used as an opener along with Venkatesh Iyer if Litton Das misses out.
