Indian Premier League 2023 is going on in full flow and more than one-third of the tournament is over. Rinku Singh, Mayank Markande, Shivam Dube, Axar Patel, Yashasvi Jaiswal and a few others have surprised us with their skills in the ongoing edition of the tournament. However, there are a few players who have failed to justify their price tag in IPL 2023. Here we have covered the three players who could not get the job done for their team.

1. Mayank Agarwal

Mayank Agarwal was bought at a hefty price of Rs 8 Crores by the Sunrises Hyderabad in the mini auction. He has opened the innings on four ocassions till now and has amassed only 65 runs with an average of about 16 and a strike rate of 103. Agarwal has clearly failed to justify his price tag so far in the tournament.

2. Riyan Parag

Riyan Parag has been with Rajasthan Royals for about five years now. He has played more than 50 matches but is yet to play an inning of substance in the tournament. He was retained at a hefty price of Rs 3.80 Crores in the mini auction and has returned the favour by scoring only 39 runs with an average of 9 in the four matches so far.

3. KL Rahul

KL Rahul is the most expensive Indian player in IPL 2023 with a price tag of Rs 17 Crores. He is the captain and opener for Lucknow Super Giants in the tournament. Rahul’s performance has dipped significantly this year. He has smashed only 155 runs in the five games with an average of 31 and a strike rate of just 113.
