The 16th edition of the Indian Premier League will be starting from March 31 and the last league match will be played on May 21. Defending Champions Gujarat Titans will be facing Chennai Super Kings in the opening encounter.

In IPL 2023 auction, while some players had a great time as they bagged lucrative deals from the franchises, some with great potential got sold at their base prices.

Here are 3 Players who were picked at their base price but could perform exceptionally well:

1. Sikandar Raza

Punjab Kings (PBKS) bought Sikandar Raza at his base price of INR 50 lakhs.

In the 2022 T20 World Cup, Sikandar Raza scored 219 runs and scalped ten wickets. The year proved to be the best year for him as in T20Is he racked up 735 runs in 24 matches at an outstanding strike rate of 150.92 and grabbed 25 wickets at an economy of 6.13.

2. Adam Zampa

Rajasthan Royals signed Zampa for his base price of INR 1.5 crore. 

The leg-spinner has picked up 82 wickets in 72 matches at an economy of 6.93 so far in T20Is. With 13 wickets in seven matches at a standout economy of 5.81, Zampa helped Australia in lifting T20 World Cup 2021.

3. Adil Rashid

Adil Rashid will play in his second IPL season this year as Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) bought him at his base price of INR 2 crore in IPL 2023 auction.

Last year, Rashid looked outstanding with the ball, claiming 19 wickets in 24 matches at an amazing economy of 7.50. In T20 World Cup 2022, Adil Rashid scalped 4 wickets in six matches at a superb economy of 6.12 which included a fantastic spell (4.0-0-20-1) against India in Semi-final.
