After the jersey gesture for Rishabh Pant, Delhi Capitals is planning to give tribute to Rishabh Pant in a different way.
Delhi Capitals will honor Rishabh Pant by inscribing his jersey number on all players during a game. This is when the team wears a different color in one game. However, it will be cut in one corner, so there will be no infringement on players’ jersey numbers.
Also, during the team’s first home match against Gujarat Titans on Tuesday, Rishabh Pant will likely watch the game from the stands at Arun Jaitley Stadium.
In the opening game against Lucknow Super Giants, Delhi Capitals hung their skipper’s jersey No. 17 on the roof of the dug-out as a gesture that he is “always with the team in spirit”. However, it seems that the BCCI is “not very happy” with DC’s jersey gesture in the 1st match.
An IPL source said that it has been made clear from the BCCI’s end that such a gesture seemed a “bit over the top” and was at one level “uncalled for”.
Delhi Capitals will face Gujarat Titans in an all-important clash at Arun Jaitley Stadium. Gujarat won their previous encounter against CSK in the opening match of IPL 2023 whereas DC was outplayed by KL Rahul’s Lucknow Super Kings.
