Sai Sudharsan, who came as substitute for injured Kane Williamson (Impact Player) in the opening game of IPL 2023, played a supporting innings of 22 runs off 17 balls and gave Gujarat Titans a good start along with Shubman Gill. No doubt Sai Sudharsan is an extraordinary talent with a bright future ahead.

Sai Sudharsan grabbed the attention in the 2021 Tamil Nadu Premier League as he became the second-highest scorer of the tournament with 358 runs at a staggering average of 71.60 and a strike rate of 143.77.

Owing to his tremendous performance in TNPL 2021, Sai Sudharsan was included in the Tamil Nadu squad. At the same time, Gujarat Titans bought him in the IPL auction for Rs 20 lakh. There he got a chance to play List-A and T20 matches.

Sai Sudharsan’s family is very passionate about sports. His father Bharadwaj is an athlete who represented India at the South Asian (SAF) Games, while his mother Usha Bharadwaj represented Tamil Nadu in volleyball.

Sai Sudharsan was known for scoring more runs since childhood. He opened for India A in the Under-10 Challenger Trophy in 2019-20 with Yashasvi Jaiswal. Tilak Verma, Ravi Bishnoi, and Priyam Garg have been part of that tournament. 

Sai Sudharsan got a chance to play at number three in a strong Tamil Nadu team. Sudharsan was given a chance while N Jagadeesan, Shahrukh Khan, Vijay Shankar, Dinesh Karthik and Baba Aparajith were there. He scored 35 off 19 balls against Maharashtra in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy. After this, he scored 46 runs in 31 balls against Kerala. Along with batting, Sudharsan also bowls spin.
