One of the most explosive cricketers in the world, Ben Stokes, will not be playing the complete season of the Indian Premier League for Chennai Super Kings. Stokes was bought for a whopping INR 16.25 crore by the Chennai-based franchise, making him the most expensive player of the team.
Stokes has been an integral part of the IPL in the past, having played for Rajasthan Royals before. However, the England Test captain has revealed that he will leave the tournament early to prepare for the Ireland Test and the Ashes, which he believes are the most important games of the summer.
Despite not playing the complete season, Stokes’ presence in the Chennai Super Kings squad will be a major boost for the team, given his reputation as one of the best all-rounders in the world.
The 16th edition of the Indian Premier League is set to begin on March 31 and will run until May 28. Alongside Stokes, other England players like Sam Curran, Jonny Bairstow, and Jofra Archer will also be competing for their respective IPL franchises, adding an extra layer of excitement to the tournament.
