Former two-time IPL-winning captain, Gautam Gambhir, has heaped praise on KL Rahul ahead of the IPL 2023 season, stating that the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) are lucky to have a captain with a “very stable and balanced head”. Despite Rahul’s underwhelming performance in the ongoing Border-Gavaskar Trophy, he will continue to lead LSG in the upcoming IPL.

Speaking at the launch of LSG’s new jersey for IPL 2023, Gautam Gambhir emphasized the importance of having a strong captain and the impact it can have on team performance. He went on to say that “no support staff is under as much pressure as the captain”, and it is the captain’s body language that decides how the team performs.

LSG’s squad for IPL 2023 features a strong mix of experienced players and exciting young talent, including Ayush Badoni, Deepak Hooda, Krunal Pandya, Quinton de Kock, Marcus Stoinis, Mark Wood, Ravi Bishnoi, and Nicholas Pooran. The franchise will begin their IPL campaign against Delhi Capitals on April 1 and will be hoping to build on their performance from the last edition of the T20 extravaganza, where they reached the Eliminators.
