Chennai Super Kings and Gujarat Titans will be facing each other in the opening match of IPL 2023 at the Narendra Modi Stadium on March 31.

Both the teams have many superstars in their squad and the fans are expecting a blockbuster match between the defending champion Gujarat Titans and 4-times title winner Chennai Super Kings. However, a few players from both these teams are also struggling through injuries or will miss the first match due to international commitment/workload management.

Star all-rounder Kyle Jamieson has already been ruled out of the entire tournament of IPL 2023 due to injury. South Africa’s Sisanda Magala has been named as replacement.

Apart from Kyle Jamieson, left-arm pacer Mukesh Choudhary is waiting for fitness clearance to be able to participate in the season opener. Mukesh Choudhary is in serious doubt for IPL 2023.

Irish pacer Joshua Little is likely to miss the first few matches for GT in IPL 2023 due to an injury which he suffered during PSL 2023.

Apart from Joshua Little, South Africa’s David Miller will miss the IPL 2023 opener between Gujarat Titans (GT) and Chennai Super Kings (CSK) due to the Netherlands series. Rashid Khan, who recently in the T20I series against Pakistan, may also miss the opening match due to workload management.
