Ravindra Jadeja was appointed the captain of Chennai Super Kings just before the couple of days of Indian Premier League 2022. He looked clueless as a captain and as a result his batting also suffered. In the end, Jadeja was sacked from the captaincy and MS Dhoni again became the captain of Chennai Super Kings in IPL 2022. Jadeja played only 10 matches for CSK in IPL 2022 and then got injured.

There were rumours that Ravindra Jadeja was actually not injured at all. He was just unhappy with the way CSK management and MS Dhoni treated him when he failed as a captain in a few matches. In particular, it was MS Dhoni’s statement about Jadeja not being ready to captain the side which irked the all-rounder.

Ravindra Jadeja wanted to come in the auction and take his leave from Chennai Super Kings. However, CSK CEO Kasi Viswanathan and MS Dhoni talked to the all-rounder to clear all misunderstanding. In the end, Ravindra Jadeja realised that the words of MS were misinterpreted in the popular media.

Ravindra Jadeja is still among the captaincy contenders for Chennai Super Kings. MS Dhoni is expected to retire after this season and there is a rumour that Jadeja will again become the captain of CSK from 2024.
