Chennai Super Kings easily defeated Delhi Capitals at the Cheapuk in yesterday’s match but both Devon Conway and Tushar Deshpande failed to move up in the respective Orange Cap and Purple Cap list. Conway could only score 10 runs while Deshpande went wicketless in the game. Today, KKR will face RR and Yashasvi Jaiswal and Varun Chakravarthy will have the opportunity to take the Orange and Purple Cap respectively with their performances.

Currently, the Orange Cap is with Faf du Plessis who has scored 576 runs in 11 games in the tournament. Devon Conway is at number four in the list with 468 runs in 11 games. The young Indian batters Yashasvi Jaiswal and Shubman Gill occupy the second and third slot in the list. Veteran Virat Kohli is at number 5.

Mohammed Shami has the Purple Cap in IPL 2023 due to his economy rate. Rashid Khan and Tushar Deshpande have also taken 19 wickets each in 11 matches but their economy rates bettered by Shami. Piyush Chawla, Varun Chakravarthy and Yuzi Chahal are other bowlers in the list of Purple Cap with 17 wickets each.
