Lucknow Super Giants and Sunrisers Hyderabad will be facing each other in a blockbuster on April 7. However, LSG captain KL Rahul is in a confusion regarding the opening spot as Quinton de Kock is available for the match and Kyle Mayers has been in brilliant form so far in IPL 2023.

It is not just the runs Mayers has scored, but it is the breathtaking strike rate at which he has got the runs. Against DC, Mayers scored 73 off just 38 balls, striking at 192.11. In the match against CSK, the power-hitter scored 53 off 22 balls at a strike rate of 240. However, De Kock is also in good form in T20Is, slamming a 43-ball century against West Indies. Hence, it is impossible to ignore any one of them.

As per reports, LSG could drop Marcus Stoinis to accommodate De Kock at the top. Stoinis scored only 12 and 21 against DC and CSK respectively and was also used sparingly as a bowler. If De Kock gets named in the playing 11 in place of Stoinis, Rahul has the option to move down the order to fit in de Kock as an opening batter.
