Rajat Patidar, who made a splash in IPL 2022 for Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB), may be ruled out of the first half of the upcoming season due to injury. Patidar is currently at the NCA in Bengaluru recuperating from a heel injury. However, It is unclear whether Rajat Patidar will be fit in time, which is why some fans have got the feeling that he might be ruled out of the entire IPL 2023 season.
Here are 3 players whom RCB can sign as a replacement if Rajat Patidar is ruled out of IPL 2023:
1. Mohammed Azharuddeen
Mohammed Azharuddeen was with RCB in IPL 2022. He was bought by RCB for Rs. 20 lakhs after he smashed the second-fastest century in Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy history, off only 37 balls against Mumbai. However, he didn’t get any game to play. Mohammed Azharuddeen seems to be the best replacement for Rajat Patidar. He’s dynamic, aggressive, and fearless, just like Rajat Patidar.

2. Karun Nair
Karun Nair had a base price of Rs. 50 lakh in IPL 2023 auction but went unsold. Karun Nair is a good top order batsman and could be a suitable replacement for Rajat Patidar as he can stabilize RCB’s innings and can do power-hitting when needed. In IPL, he has played 76 matches in which he has scored 1171 runs at an average of 23.75. The right-handed batsman has also hit 10 fifties in the tournament.
3. Dinesh Bana
Dinesh Bana was a part of India’s 2022 Under-19 World Cup winning team. He is unknown for his batting and hitting ability. Though the IPL franchises didn’t bid for the youngster, Royal Challengers Bangalore might look to rope in Dinesh Bana if Rajat Patidar is ruled out.
