IPL 2023: Ravindra Jadeja to Become the Captain of CSK?

Ravindra Jadeja was handed over the captaincy of Chennai Super Kings all of a sudden before the start of Indian Premier League 2022. CSK went on to lose many matches in the tournament, and Jadeja’s own performance with both bat and ball dropped quite significantly. In the end he was even injured, and there were rumours that Jadeja would leave the CSK before the start of IPL 2023.

Nevertheless, Jadeja has stayed with CSK, and it is claimed that MS Dhoni was the one who convinced him to stay with the franchise. Dhoni got back the captaincy of CSK after Jadeja resigned as the captain in IPL 2022. Even in IPL 2023, MS Dhoni will captain the Chennai Super Kings.

However, what happens with CSK after IPL 2023? Dhoni is likely to leave the franchise and appear either in a coaching or mentor role for the franchise. Ben Stokes was bought by CSK in the mini auction this year, and there are rumours that CSK is looking at him as a potential captaincy material.

However, CSK will not go with an overseas captain as Stokes can be unavailable at any moment due to his national commitments. It is more than likely that Jadeja will again become the captain of CSK after Dhoni decides to retire.
