Commentator Aakash Chopra highlights the positives about RCB's batting and bowling strength and predicts that this could end their trophy drought.

Former Indian cricketer and commentator, Aakash Chopra, has predicted that the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) might just end their trophy drought this season in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023. Chopra, in a recent video shared on his YouTube channel, praised RCB’s strong bowling attack, which has been doing its job exceptionally well, and feels it could help them win the tournament.

The RCB’s recent victory against the Rajasthan Royals at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru was a testament to the strength of their bowlers. Harshal Patel picked up three wickets for 22 runs in four overs, which helped RCB defend their target of 190 runs.

Chopra pointed out that the Bangalore-based franchise’s story is about the green jersey. In the past, RCB has won three games while wearing the green jersey, and all three times they qualified for the playoffs. Chopra feels that the team’s fourth win in the green jersey could be a good omen for RCB’s chances in the tournament.

While praising RCB’s bowling, Chopra also expressed concern about the team’s over-dependence on just three batters – Faf du Plessis, Glenn Maxwell, and Virat Kohli. However, he lauded du Plessis and Maxwell for their batting efforts and said they do the job well. Chopra also highlighted Maxwell’s consistency in scoring runs, especially when playing at Chinnaswamy.

RCB’s recent victory against Rajasthan Royals has propelled them to the fifth position on the 10-team points table, with eight points and a net run rate of -0.008. The Bangalore-based franchise will take on the Kolkata Knight Riders in their next match of IPL 2023 on Wednesday, April 26. All eyes will be on RCB’s performance in the tournament, and fans will hope that Chopra’s prediction of their victory comes true this season.
