Virat Kohli and Faf du Plessis scored half-centuries as Royal Challengers Bangalore comfortably chased down 172 runs against Mumbai Indians to register a thumping victory in the fifth match of the tournament. The pair produced an exhibition of sublime stroke-making, plundering 10 boundaries and as many maximums during their near-flawless 89-ball 148-run opening stand.

Tilak Varma’s unbeaten half-century helped Mumbai Indians post a competitive 171 for seven against Royal Challengers Bangalore. Varma scored 84 off 46 balls, smashing nine boundaries and four sixes. Despite Varma’s excellent knock, the rest of MI’s batting struggled. Spinner Karn Sharma was the pick of the bowlers for RCB, taking two wickets for 32 runs from his four overs.
Royal Challengers Bangalore’s Virat Kohli and captain Faf du Plesiss both scored impressive half-centuries, helping their team secure an eight-wicket victory over five-time champions Mumbai Indians in Bengaluru. Kohli remained unbeaten on 82 off 49 balls, while du Plessis made 73 off 43 balls to set up the chase, which RCB completed in just 16.2 overs.
