Shreyas Iyer is probably going to miss the first half of Indian Premier League 2023 due to a back injury that has resurfaced. He started experiencing discomfort in the middle of the 4th India vs Australia Test and did not come out to bat.
Following which it was announced that Shreyas Iyer is not going to be part of India’s ODI squad against Australia. The middle order batter who is known for tackling the spin is the captain of Kolkata Knight Riders in IPL and his absence may prove to be the deciding factor for KKR in IPL.

According to the recent reports, Rinku Singh is expected to be promoted in the batting order following his insane knocks in the previous season of IPL. He single-handedly won a match for KKR in IPL 2022 and showcased his ability with the bat.
