IPL 2023: Rohit Sharma expected to miss the opening match against RCB due to ill health

Mumbai Indians will be playing their first match of IPL 2023 against Royal Challengers Bangalore on April 2. However, with almost 48 hours left for the match to begin, bad news has struck the MI camp – Mumbai Indians captain Rohit Sharma is unwell.

Due to his ill health, captain Rohit Sharma was forced to miss the pre-IPL captains’ meeting and photoshoot on Thursday.

“He was unwell and thus could not travel to Ahmedabad for the pre-IPL captains’ meeting and photoshoot. He is, however, likely to be available for MI’s opening game in IPL-2023 against Royal Challengers Bangalore on April 2,” a reliable source said.

As per reports, Rohit Sharma could even miss their opening game against Royal Challengers Bangalore on April 2. This will affect MI very badly as the team will not only miss ‘Rohit The Batsman’, but also ‘Rohit The Captain’. Hence, MI fans will be hoping that Rohit Sharma gets fit as early as possible so that MI’s campaign of IPL 2023 doesn’t get affected.
