Mumbai Indians captain Rohit Sharma may sit out of several matches of IPL 2023 keeping workload management in mind. In his absence, Suryakumar Yadav will captain the Mumbai team. After the IPL, the Indian team has to play the final of the World Test Championship against Australia at The Oval Stadium in London and after that the ODI World Cup will also be played in India in October-November.

According to the news of Indian Express, Rohit may sit out of some matches of the upcoming IPL season. However, during this time he will be present with the team and will guide Suryakumar in the captaincy from the dugout. After the ODI series against Australia, Rohit Sharma, while talking about workload management in IPL, said that it will depend on the franchises.

Rohit said, “We have given some indications to the teams but at the end of the day, it’s up to the franchises, and more importantly, it’s up to the players.

“They are all adults, they have to look after their bodies. If they feel it’s getting a bit too much, they can talk about it and take a break in one or two games. I doubt if that will happen.”

Five-time champions Mumbai Indians will play their first match in the upcoming IPL against Royal Challengers Bangalore at the M.Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru.
