In their previous match, the Delhi Capitals (DC) suffered a defeat at the hands of the Gujarat Titans (GT). Batting first, DC struggled to put up a big score as they could only manage 162-8 in their allotted 20 overs. The likes of Prithvi Shaw (7), Mitchell Marsh (4), and Riley Rossouw (0) fell cheaply, as both Mohammed Shami and Rashid Khan picked up 3 wickets each for the GT side.
In response, GT’s opening duo of Wriddhiman Saha and Shubman Gill were dismissed cheaply for just 14 runs each by pacer Anrich Nortje. However, Sai Sudharsan (62*), Vijay Shankar (29), and David Miller (31*) contributed crucially with the bat to guide GT to a comfortable 6-wicket victory in the end.
