Punjab Kings are in huge trouble as they lost their opener Jonny Bairstow to an injury. The English opener is still not completely healed and will avoid the IPL 2023 to be in the perfect shape for the Ashes. Bairstow is struggling with an injury that he suffered in September 2022.

Punjab Kings bought Sam Curran at a hefty price in the auctions. He is the most expensive buy ever in IPL. The young all-rounder from England was the player of the tournament in the recently concluded T20 World Cup 2022. He achieved huge success at a very young age.

Curran missed the IPL 2022 due to an injury and played for CSK and PBKS before that in the IPL. He is back again with PBKS and would hope to forget the recently concluded SA20, in which he did not perform significantly.

Recent reports are claiming that Punjab Kings is looking at Sam Curran as one of the reliable batters. He is expected to bat ahead of Liam Livingstone and Bhanuka Rajapaksa and play at number three for Punjab Kings.
