Chennai Super Kings has suffered a major blow as star pace bowler Sisanda Magala is set to be ruled out for 2 weeks. Magala hurt his finger while fielding in the first innings of CSK’s last match against Rajasthan Royals at Chepauk. Magala bowled only two overs against the Royals and went for 14 runs, without taking any wickets.
CSK coach Stephen Fleming threw light on Magala’s injury. “Magala’s hand was split, unfortunately, so he was unable to bowl those last two overs. And the same with Deepak Chahar in the last game, so we’re operating on pretty thin resources. But we’re not the only team to have that,” Fleming said in a post-match press conference.

Sri Lanka’s Matheesha Pathirana is likely to replace Sisanda Magala in the playing XI for the next match.
