IPL 2023: Top 7 Retained Players of Gujarat Titans 

The Indian Premier League will hold its 16th edition in India from April to June 2023. Gujarat Titans defied all expectations by winning the IPL title in their first season. The Gujarat Titans were one of two new teams to enter the IPL. Following the IPL 2022 mega auction, they were heavily chastised for picking up an inexperienced squad.

However, Hardik Pandya and his team demonstrated to the world that it is the utility players who win matches, not the big stars. 1. Hardik Pandya

Gujarat Titans had a fantastic season this year. For two months, they played fantastic cricket, led by Hardik Pandya. He had a good year with both the bat and the ball. Hardik was Gujarat’s leading run-scorer, with 487 runs scored in 15 innings at an average of 45 and a strike rate close to 130. He took eight wickets with the ball, demonstrating his versatility. Gujarat Titans will once again look to him to lift the IPL trophy for them in the 2023 edition.

2. Rashid Khan

Rashid Khan, widely regarded as one of the best T20 bowlers, maintained his impressive form in the IPL, taking 19 wickets in 16 innings. In the middle overs, he was the franchise’s most important bowler, limiting opponents. Aside from bowling, he appeared in a few games and made key cameos at the end of innings. Gujarat Titans will almost certainly expect a similar performance from in the IPL 2023 edition.

3. Mohammed Shami

In IPL 2022 edition, Mohammed Shami was the Gujarat Titans’ most effective seamer, taking 20 wickets in 16 innings. He started his IPL 2022 campaign with a wicket and ended it with a wicket. Shami bowled with a good pace and bounce and was difficult to track. Given his outstanding bowling performance in the IPL 2022, the team management will undoubtedly expect a repeat performance from him in the next IPL edition.

4. Shubman Gill

Gill was among the most successful players for Gujarat Titans in IPL 2022. Shubhman Gill provided stability to his team, by giving solid opening partnerships. The former opener scored 483 runs in 16 innings. The franchise has already retained him ahead of the IPL 2022 mini-auction, considering and expecting the performance he had given in the last edition.

5. David Miller

Miller was a standout player for Gujarat Titans in the IPL 2022. David Miller took on the role of a finisher. He scored 481 runs in 15 innings. Given his outstanding batting performance in the IPL 2022 edition, the franchise will almost certainly expect the same in the next IPL edition.

6. Wriddhiman Saha 

Wriddhiman Saha had a phenomenal season in the IPL 2022 edition. He had an impactful season, with the bat. Saha was the 4th highest run scorer for the Gujarat Titans, accumulating 317 runs in 11 innings at an average of 31 and a strike rate close to 123. He was also good behind the stumps, he scalped 11 catches, showing his keeping skills. The franchise will be expecting the same from him in this year’s IPL edition too.

7. Rahul Tewatia

Tewatia, regarded as one of the best finishers in the IPL, maintained his good form in last year’s edition as well, scoring 217 runs in 12 innings. He was the franchise’s key player in the middle and final overs, stealing the victory from the opponents. In a couple of matches, he also made crucial cameo appearances near the end of the innings. The Gujarat Titans team management will undoubtedly expect big things from him in the IPL 2023 edition.
