Virat Kohli has been with the Royal Challengers Bangalore since the inception of the tournament in 2008. He is the only player in the Indian Premier League to represent only one franchise over the history of 15 years of the tournament. Kohli captained RCB for the majority of these 15 years and is regarded as the mainstay of RCB.
There is a bad news for RCB and Virat Kohli fans as it seems that Kohli is going to miss a lot of matches for his franchise in the upcoming edition of the tournament. This is due to the BCCI mandate which states that Indian players who are going to be part of the World Cup 2023 squad will be given adequate rest in the IPL.

Not just Virat Kohli, even Rohit Sharma, Mohammed Siraj, Mohammed Shami, Hardik Pandya and Ravindra Jadeja are also expected to miss a few matches in the tournament. BCCI is strict with its policy as it wants the Indian cricket team to finally lift the World Cup trophy after almost 12 years.
RCB should find an able number three who can take Kohli’s spot in a few matches for the team.
