The IPL 2024 auction saw remarkable success as franchises collectively spent over INR 230 crore to secure 72 players for the available 77 slots. Notably, the INR 20 crore mark was surpassed twice during the event.

Sunrisers Hyderabad broke records with their INR 20.50 crore bid for Pat Cummins, followed by Kolkata Knight Riders securing Mitchell Starc for a winning bid of INR 24.75 crore, both becoming the highest-priced purchases in IPL auction history, surpassing Sam Curran’s record.

In total, 30 overseas players garnered Rs 151 crore, representing over half of all players sold. Australians claimed a significant share, receiving 30% of the total investment during the IPL 2024 Auction, which amounted to Rs 230.45 crore.
