Rishabh Pant’s unfortunate involvement in a major car crash just before the commencement of 2023 led to his absence from IPL 2023 and subsequent cricketing events, including the ICC ODI World Cup 2023.

Sourav Ganguly, Delhi Capitals’ Director of Cricket, has now confirmed Pant’s return for IPL 2024. Notably, Pant was spotted at the IPL 2024 Auction in Dubai, accompanied by DC owners Ricky Ponting and Sourav Ganguly.

Rishabh Pant took to Instagram, sharing a photo of his legs to update followers on his recovery progress, affirming his participation in IPL 2024. Additionally, he was seen spending Christmas time with MS Dhoni, sparking speculation about Pant potentially captaining CSK from IPL 2025, intensifying the rumors.

The key question at present revolves around whether Rishabh Pant will don the dual roles of wicketkeeper and captain for DC in IPL 2024. Indications suggest he might focus solely on batting, serving as a pivotal impact player for the Delhi Capitals.

Pant, still in the process of recovery, will need extensive practice before being ready for fielding or taking on wicketkeeping duties for the full 20 overs.
