The IPL match today will see Delhi Capitals take on Rajasthan Royals. Rajasthan will be looking to secure a win and improve their position on the points table. So far, they have played six matches and managed to win only two. As a result, Rajasthan Royals currently sit at the 8th position on the points table. The team has been struggling, especially due to a lack of depth in batting. While their openers have been performing decently in the powerplay, they are facing serious trouble during the middle overs.
Delhi Capitals’ Form
Delhi Capitals have had a much better season so far. Out of five matches, they have won four and are currently ranked 2nd on the table. However, the injury to Faf du Plessis and the poor form of Jake Fraser-McGurk are concerns for the team. On the brighter side, Karun Nair is in excellent form and is likely to be included in the playing XI. His ability to open the innings could be an added advantage. Among the bowlers, Mukesh Kumar could prove to be effective against Rajasthan opener Yashasvi Jaiswal.
Delhi Capitals Probable Playing XI:
Jake Fraser-McGurk, Karun Nair, Abhishek Porel, KL Rahul (wicketkeeper), Tristan Stubbs, Axar Patel (captain), Ashutosh Sharma, Vipraj Nigam, Mitchell Starc, Kuldeep Yadav, Mohit Sharma, Mukesh Kumar.
Rajasthan Royals’ Struggles
Rajasthan’s batting has been inconsistent. Riyan Parag is yet to regain the form he showed last season. Sanju Samson and Nitish Rana have scored just one half-century each so far. Yashasvi Jaiswal and Shimron Hetmyer have also failed to deliver big innings. The Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi is known to favour batters, so Rajasthan will hope their top order fires to post a big total.
