The IPL 2025 mega auction, scheduled for November 24 and 25 in Jeddah, will feature 574 players, including 12 marquee players divided into two sets, who will be auctioned first. The second day will focus on an accelerated auction starting with player No. 117.
Unsold players will have an opportunity to return during the accelerated auction, but not all will be reintroduced. The process will occur in two phases: first, franchises will nominate players (from No. 117 to 574) they wish to see presented again. In the second phase, any remaining unsold players nominated by the franchises will be reintroduced. If even one team mentions a player’s name, they will be brought back into the auction.
In the accelerated auction, franchises will have the opportunity to re-evaluate players who went unsold in the initial phase, giving them another chance to secure a spot in the IPL 2025 season. The nominations from the franchises are critical, as they will determine which players will be presented again. However, the decision ultimately lies with the teams, and players who are not nominated will not return to the auction.

This process ensures that even if a player doesn’t attract interest initially, there remains a possibility for them to find a team later in the auction, increasing their chances of being selected for the upcoming season. The accelerated auction phase will bring a fresh wave of excitement as teams look to fill any remaining gaps in their squad.
