The 18th season of the Indian Premier League (IPL) has concluded with a thrilling final between Punjab Kings and Royal Challengers Bangalore. Punjab Kings won the toss and opted to bowl first. Batting first, RCB posted 190 runs in 20 overs, losing 9 wickets, powered by Virat Kohli’s 43-run knock. In reply, Punjab Kings could only manage 184 runs for 7 wickets in their 20 overs. With this win, Royal Challengers Bangalore secured their maiden IPL title. After the match, the presentation ceremony saw a shower of prize money on teams and players.
Champions Showered with Cash Rewards
As usual, the winning team received a huge prize purse. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) awarded the champion team, Royal Challengers Bangalore, with ₹20 crore. The runners-up, Punjab Kings, received ₹12.5 crore. Punjab’s coaching staff also received a runners-up shield and a limited edition IPL watch.
