Rohit Sharma, who won 5 titles as captain for Mumbai Indians in IPL, has once again hinted at becoming the captain before IPL 2025. Mumbai Indians removed him from the captaincy last season, in his place Hardik Pandya was given the command of the team. But now the Hitman has hinted at becoming the captain again. At the CEAT Awards held in Mumbai, Rohit told the reason for his success in IPL as a captain and during this time he said something which was indicating that this legend can be seen captaining again in the next season. Rohit Sharma told that he has won five trophies in IPL and there is a special reason for this. He said, ‘There is a reason for winning five titles in IPL. I am not going to stop. Because when you get the taste of winning matches, you do not want to stop, you keep moving forward as a team. We will keep trying to achieve the same thing in future as well.’

Now the question is, is Rohit Sharma going to become the captain again? Because now Rohit is not the captain of any team. But there were definitely reports that he can go ahead and join some other team outside Mumbai Indians and Rohit can also get its command. However, it is difficult to say how much truth is there in these reports.

Rohit’s amazing record in IPL as captain

Rohit Sharma is the most successful player in IPL as a captain. Rohit took over the captaincy of Mumbai Indians in 2013 and under his leadership the team won the title five times. Under Rohit’s captaincy, Mumbai won the IPL in 2013, 2015 and in 2017 as well.

After this, the Mumbai team won the IPL consecutively in 2019 and 2020. However, before 2024, Mumbai Indians replaced Rohit with Hardik Pandya as the captain, after which the team’s performance was very poor. However, Rohit definitely made Team India win the T20 World Cup.
